What to Expect Before Surgery?
We will schedule a pre-surgical exam to evaluate you. Once we deem that you are an ideal candidate for the procedure, we will discuss the different lens options available to you.

What to Expect During Surgery?
Before the surgery, you will meet with your surgeon, Dr. Andrew Shatz, to go over the procedure and discuss any concerns you might have. The staff will give you the post-operative instructions that you should follow. Once you are comfortable, we will proceed with the procedure.
The anesthesiologist will give you medication to help you relax. Next, they will place you in a near-horizontal position. Dr. Shatz will then apply anesthetic drops to numb your eye.
After, the doctor will use a precision laser to gently break the cataract and he will then remove the natural lens. Through this incision, Dr. Shatz will insert the artificial lens and position it inside your eye.
What to Expect After Surgery?
It is normal to experience blurry or foggy vision immediately after the procedure. Your eyes might also feel gritty and might be slightly swollen. Fortunately, all these symptoms will disappear after a few days.
